Maintenance Assistant

Due to retirement, we are looking for an all-rounder to join our maintenance team to support with general maintenance duties. Working closely with our Maintenance Manager and Senior Technicians, this hands-on role is key to supporting the smooth operation of our Coleraine facility.

The Job

The position is varied - no two days will be the same. There is a mix of planned maintenance work, such as basic cleaning, lamp changing, unblocking sinks/toilets, installing shelves, low level plumbing works i.e fixing leaking taps, and minor preparation for painting, staining, and decorating using roller and brush applications. You will also be involved in project work with the wider maintenance team in areas like equipment installation. Externally you will be looking after grounds maintenance with some grass cutting, litter collection, weed control and the general upkeep of the exterior of the plant.

About you

It is likely that you will have undertaken a similar maintenance role in the past and that you will have practical DIY/maintenance skills. In summary you will need to demonstrate that you have:

·        Hands-on experience with plumbing and joinery repairs.

·        Competent in using hand and power tools (e.g. drills, angle grinders, multi-tools).

·        Skilled in painting and decorating.

·        Strong practical ability, with good attention to detail

 

·        Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

 

·        Fork lift Driving licence is desirable but not essential as we will provide training if needed.

The hours of work for this position are 8.00am – 4.30pm Monday – Thursday and 8.00 – 3.30 Fridays.
